"After more than 8 years as a multi-policy State Farm customer (including business coverage), my experience with the Shannon Perren office has deteriorated to an unacceptable level, raising serious concerns regarding inaccurate reporting, billing practices, and customer service standards. My LexisNexis report contains accidents and violations that do not belong to me. I was incorrectly advised this is due to being on a shared policy, despite not being the primary policyholder. This explanation is inconsistent and misleading, particularly given that only selective information from other drivers appears on my record. Additionally, a not-at-fault accident has been duplicated multiple times. State Farm is the only insurer I have used, making the source of this reporting issue clear. No corrective action has been taken despite multiple attempts to resolve it. Billing practices have been equally concerning. Premiums have fluctuated without clear justification, repeatedly attributed to a “new system,” with no transparency provided. We were advised to continue making payments while discrepancies “even out,” which is not a reasonable or acceptable standard. Upon cancellation, we were informed that only $32 had been paid toward a policy, which is factually incorrect—we paid $208 for one vehicle. To date, no one has been able to provide an accurate breakdown of charges, allocations, or refunds. The conduct of staff further compounds these issues. Jamie’s communication was unprofessional and dismissive. David explicitly stated that if we were dissatisfied, we should “go elsewhere,” demonstrating a lack of regard for long-term clients. Melissa, who identified herself as the manager, failed to provide any meaningful resolution and relied solely on reading account notes, without the ability to explain billing or refund discrepancies. The lack of accountability, inaccurate reporting, and inability to provide clear financial explanations are deeply concerning. Based on this experience, I strongly advise others to exercise caution when considering doing business with this office. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

We do not have any authority over how LexisNexis reports claims at the local office level, but LexisNexis has it’s own department to resolve consumer complaints. "Me and my family's entire account has been with State Farm for well over 6 years if not more. Our interactions with David have felt more transactional than a genuine relationship that one would like to have. These last few months our insurance has skyrocketed by a minimum of $50 per vehicle and rather than taking ownership and doing what any business owner would do, rectify the problem, he keeps blaming technology and a new system in place. David has not been able to explain how these charges incurred and expects us to just pay for them and "everything will balance out" come our next renewal. David did suggest we go to another provider, so we will do exactly that. Swapping to AllState and slashing our bill by exactly 42%. So a big thank you, David, for pushing us to a better solution for all parties involved. We truly appreciate you. MARCH 25 EDIT: The level of professionalism from Jamie and Melissa is subpar to say the least. While we understand we’re not longer clients’ of Shannon Perren’s agency, this agency still has money unaccounted when it comes to issuing refunds. I’m not saying there’s fraud going on, but if you cannot account for the money that is going in and out of the agency then something is falling through the cracks that needs to be addressed asap. I hope Shannon Perren genuinely takes a full review of the staff here if this is the level of professionalism currently employed."

"It is time for my first renewal with State Farm and Jack is my agent. He called last month and had to leave a message for me to call him back. Yes, I was nervous returning his call, because I thought my premium jumped back up to 700.00 (the amt. I saved switching to State Farm) but NO! He wanted to let me know he had reviewed my coverage and that everything still looks good and that my coverage went down 7.00. My point to this review is he called me!! I’ve never experienced this with ANY business. FIRST CLASS customer service, seriously!"

"When my vehicle was totaled by another driver, the process with State Farm was generally smooth and handled efficiently. I did feel the reimbursement was a bit on the low side, but it wasn’t unreasonable. My lower rating comes from more recent interactions with this office. Another State Farm customer backed into my vehicle and caused minor front-end damage. I called the office to ask what steps to take and didn’t receive a call back for about eight hours. When someone finally returned my call, it was clear they hadn’t listened to my voicemail or reviewed my message. I filed a claim against the other driver’s policy, but it was denied for “lack of evidence” and because they “need to believe their client.” Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up or guidance from this office afterward, which was disappointing. My premiums didn't entitle me to any follow up explanation. More recently, I scheduled an insurance review with Shannon nearly a month in advance. The appointment started over an hour late, and I was contacted by someone else from the office who was unfamiliar with my claim but was again eager to see how State Farm could help provide me more coverage. I was told the delay was due to helping another customer with their claim, which I completely understand, but it would have been nice to at least have an update so as to not waste my time. This office is very responsive and helpful when setting up policies, but once you’re an existing customer, the follow-up and communication seem to fall short. If they offer the best price and coverage, they’re worth considering. If not, you may want to look elsewhere if strong customer service is a priority for you. Edit 12-15-2025 After posting this review, I was contacted by Alison from the office. I received an apology along with an explanation that the office is growing very quickly and is extremely busy while trying to catch up on processes. I was told my previously denied claim would be reviewed after I provided additional documentation from the officer who was on site at the time of the incident. I sent that information on 11/18/2025. Since then, I have not received any follow-up, update, or communication. Unfortunately, this experience reinforces the concerns noted in my original review — while the office is responsive when initiating policies or coverage discussions, follow-through and communication on existing customer issues appear to be lacking. At this point, it feels like current clients take a back seat to onboarding new ones."

It took a great deal of time to handle each person with the standard of service and attention we try to give every customer.
